Moving Day #1

Today we moved to our new site!

It was quite the logistical nightmare organising the livestock moves, especially the legalities of the pig movement license.

However after a very very busy day, we managed to move Winston & Curly Pig, our 4 ducks and Luna the pony.

It feels very strange sitting here, knowing that they are quite a long way away and not just outside our house!

Tomorrow we collect Pipsy & Boris the new Kune Kune pigs and once we have settled them, we will set to moving the goats. Next week we plan to collect the new herd of 5 from Chipping Norton.
We also hope to move the geese and chickens tomorrow then set to building the necessary shelters and storage sheds.

We are thrilled to bits with the new smallholding and very excited about spending so much time in the country as opposed to the edge of a town. It is incredibly peaceful and the air is so fresh and fragrant it is hard to stop taking deep lungfuls! The views are stunning and we feel as if we have our own, very private and peaceful little corner of nature in which to raise our animals and grow some produce. As they say... THIS IS THE LIFE!
